Dr. Reynolds received his doctorate from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 with honors. Upon graduation, he went to work for a busy mixed animal practice in Albany, Oregon. During his time there, he honed his skills in small animal orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. He also developed expertise in advanced equine dentistry. He made many wonderful relationships with people and their pets. Many of his former clients travel to Stayton for his care.
Dr. Brubaker graduated with honors from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. He chose to pursue a career in mixed animal practice which would allow him to care for both pets and livestock. Upon his graduation he went to work for the same veterinary hospital where Dr. Reynolds was practicing. It was while working together in Albany that they realized that there practice styles, business philosophies, and sense of humor could make an excellent animal health care team.
In the spring of 2005, Dr. Reynolds moved on to establish Santiam Canyon VetMed, a mobile practice serving Marion, Linn and Benton counties. He also continued to perform relief veterinary services for hospitals in the area while his practice grew. Dr. Reynolds and his family moved from Albany to Stayton in 2005 to settle closer to his wife’s family and for the education of their 3 children. Dr. Brubaker would fill in to provide veterinary services when Dr. Reynolds needed to be out of town.
As the practice grew Dr Reynolds days as a relief veterinarian became fewer. The need for a location to provide surgical services and advanced care for his patients became apparent. In 2008, the opportunity presented itself to purchase Stayon Veterinary Hospital. At that time, Dr. Brubaker and Dr. Reynolds formed a partnership.
Stayon Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1995 as a single doctor small animal practice in Stayton, Oregon. The goal of the practice at that time was to provide high quality veterinary medicine to the community.
This tradition of superior care is continued with the merger of Santiam Canyon VetMed in 2008. The joining of these two veterinary practices provides Stayton and the surrounding communities with a full service mixed animal practice employing four veterinarians and an outstanding support staff that all strive to ensure an excellent standard of care.
